EGR shut off?

I have an old Ostrich emulator and used TunerPro in the past. Haven't played with tuning in years. Can someone tell me how to shut off the EGR in the programing? I have a MiniRam that I'm installing. I actually bought the EGR kit for the miniram but the install looks difficult. The pics I see on the internet show a hole cut into the header to weld in a air port. I already have the smog legal headers with the port/pipes, couldn't I just "T" into one of the rubber hoses that go to the headers? Any input would help, thanks.

Re: EGR shut off?

Thanks, can't say that I know how to remove code 32 (from car or in programming?). Another question, My car is tuned for my setup with a Superram. Will I need to adjust anything like TPS, IAC, or anything else I'm forgeting? I am just swapping the miniram for the superram, everything else will be the same.

Re: EGR shut off?

What program are you using to edit or do you just want the hex address for the 32 malf ?
Since the tps and iac was set before with the 165 ecm no need to adjust it but wouldn't be bad to do a iac min adjustment and then double check the tps voltage. You can package up the sr and send it off to me lol

Re: EGR shut off?

Going to use TunerPro but I gotta admit I haven't tuned in about 5-6 years, I have a feeling I forgot all my knowledge. As for the Superram, I will try to sell it on here when I'm done with the swap, it is polished from the runners up. My car is a show/cruise night car.

The code 32 is a flag.

Re: EGR shut off?

I just downloaded the old TunerPro and opened up the 6E code that I have. I found the "Disable EGR if MAT" constant/scaler. Is that the one I max out? What is the code 32 flag called, I don't see it. I will eventually have to hack the bin from my car with the ostrich that's in there, I think I just go File>Import BIN. One last question, what adjustments need to be made with in TunerPro in the way of settings? For example, do I have to adjust the Bin?Stacker/Splitter - Stack Mode window?

Re: EGR shut off?

01DE is where malf 32 is located, Im sorry but I haven't used tuner pros stacker. since you are going to emulate I don't see a need to stack.

Re: EGR shut off?

Thanks for the info. I'm messing around with TunerPro at work with the 6E file. I dd not hack my BIN off the car yet. I can't seem to find O1DE. I'm good enough to find the scalers, flags and tables but how do I find the 01DE.

Re: EGR shut off?

Usually don't need to un-check the malfunction flag. Setting the enable temperature high for the EGR will disable it along with the EGR diagnostics. If the EGR doesn't get enabled, ECM can't run the diagnostics either.

RBob.

Re: EGR shut off?

OK - I will just max out the Deg F for "Disable EGR if MAT", that sound correct? And thanks again to everybody who chimed in. You guys helped me a lot years back and after having some kids and putting my wife through college I'm finally ready to start playing with the car again.
