Are there different flavors of the ARAP.BIN?

Are there different flavors of the ARAP.BIN?

I was on a site and saw some for manual or auto trannies. I forget the site though. Are those just modified ARAP bins or are they actual GM ones? Im building a chip for my 383/T56 combo and if there is a GM manual ARAP bin its probably what I should start with. If not, where is the official ARAP.BIN (ftp.dyi-efi.org??)

You'll want to use a manual tranny based .bin. It will save you lots of time. The IAC stuff can be very different from auto to manual tranny applications.
383?, I'd think real serious about using a 730 anyway.

Are you saying there is a manual ARAP.bin? Or, go with a different bin(730?). Not sure what that is.

ARAP is for an automatic tranny application. So you need to start with something else.

730 refers to a 1227730 ecm like what is used in the 90-92 FBodies. A quick search about 730 will give you lots of info..

I would try importing arap tables to a stock 89 bin.The spark tables for the arap bin are crazy.The spark tables will be different for manual.Just start with the stock 89 manual spark tables.Then up the table little bits at a time.I heard importing the maf tables from arap works good.If you need more help email me,I know a bit about maf.Unless your going to rip you ecm and harness out and swap to 730.

Wouldnt it be the easiest just to get a stock bin for the transmission type you want to use and then modify it? Just a thought.

ARAP maf tables have been said (by lots of folk here) to be the most "refined"!!??
Well, there are folk out there that are sticking with maf and really trying to make it run well/correctly
Again-not meant to flame-but trying to keep it a "learning enviroment".

I try not to respond to negitive bs.I think grumpy does,nt know as much about maf as he says.I have had many emails from folks that feel the same.Like I said before if you know so much then explain the maf tables in great detail.Not to prove a point but to educate us.
