B4C Police alternator not a myth!...

The question has been asked several times whether or not the B4C 3rd gen. police Camaros came with a higher amp alternator or not. To my knowledge the question has never been clearly answered. I think some people say yes while others say no.

I had the opportunity today to see a California Highway Patrol B4C Camaro at a car show that Tom K. and I entered our Firebirds in. The B4C still had ALL the police equipment on it and it did indeed have the higher amp/Caprice style alternator on it with the adapter bracket.

I'm going to look into getting the part numbers. I thought many people would be interested in this info.

I have these part #'s for them:

(10463338)140 amp alternator $235.00
(10118722)140 amp alt bracket $50.00

But I have never verified them.

Major coolness! I'll check the numbers out @ GM. I wonder what other "goodies" the police package included that the "general public" version of the F-body did not get.......bullet proof glass & tires?????

I was hoping for spike strip resistant tires

When did the B4Cs first come out on a 3rd gen?

Where do you get 87 from? According to the Camaro White Book, it was 1991.
