Are you putting the grease on it when you install? Its very important to keep the module from overheating.

I've had similar problems with ignition modules before. I thought mine were going bad but they really weren't. Everytime I changed it the car would start again. It ended up being one of the connections to the module. You might want to try cleaning all of the connectors and checking the wires.

just changed my pick up coil. you might look at that it is cheap and they usually wear out over the years. Mine was so corroded the connecter from it to the module turned from plastic to goo, and the wires were cracked. My car was running very bad then I put a new pick up coil in and it runs like its new again. maybe thats shorting out you module. When oyur in the dist. that far clean all the contacs real well , they will be a little rusty.

It's the pick up coil going to ground that frys the module. If it's not the pick up coil then you have another short in the main ignition coil or wire leading to it.
Did you change the spark plugs just before the control module started frying on you? It is possible that if a plug is not seated correctly the control module could burn out. That is my experience with some older GM electronic ignitions (70's and some early 80's), but may not apply to your situation. Figured I'd mention it just in case.
