Blower fan control

Probably a dumb question, I'm just looking for a second opinion. I just bought and IROC 5.7 TPI. The heater fan control only works on the lowest setting. 2, 3, and 4, don't do anything at all. Is it just the heater controls that are messed up?

What would be the easiest way to fix it? Should I just get a new climate control? Or, how difficult is the resistor you're talking about to find and replace? Thanx for the reply!

The resistor he is talking about is called a variable resistor.
The more resistance in the curcit the slower the fan will turn.

In your case its stuck on setting 1 were you have the most resistance. See were this is going?

I see where it's going, yes. It's blowing just as it should on 1. Can you tell me where the resistor is located, or where to find a good schematic of the system? Thanx for you help guys!

What if the fan turns off on setting 2,3,and 4?

Hello,

I have just found this site and you guys could be a dream come true! My fan switch does something very similar. But off is on and on is off! I have some problems with my car that I will be asking about in other sections but when it is set to off the fan blows at top speed I think. on setting 1 is off. 2 3 4 does nothing also.

Many Thanks for any replys.

Steve.
