im at school right now so cant remeber the battery name but i bought it from oreilys. what high stress would a 3.1 be putting on a battery? the battery will last about 2 days if u put it back on the charger so its not the battery.

Starter solenoid causing the alt to not charge?........................
Anyways. Make sure all of the fuses have a GOOD connection. My alternator is connected to a fuse labeled "FAN" or something like that.
The metal pieces that the fuse slides into, on one side they're too far appart, making a bad connection. If you HOLD the fuse in there, it'll charge, else, it just sort of slides out.
See if that's your problem, if it is, either fix it somehow, or rig it.
We have these thin fuses and the metal pieces would keep sliding out of the cover everytime i'd pull the fuses out, so I just took two metal pieces out, put one full metal piece in there, then I broke the mid section of another thin fuse and took the two end pieces of the fuse, and shoved them in there so it makes it wider, and makes a connection. Works great, and... in THEORY, the fuse will still break if too much power is put through it. :P

I'd also check the battery cables to make sure that none of it is loose.

hey guys
hey lankchevy
When you had the ALT checked was it on the car or off. I work at advance auto and i see this all the time. The first thing to check is to see if the Red wire the connects to the back of the ALT has +12 volts on it. If it does not have 12 volts on it you have somehow blowed the fusiable link at the starter. sounds like the problem.
Because it the alt is charging on the car you must have a pretty big short in the electrical system to over come the alt and drain the battery.
