No dash lights...radio twitches....
i replaced the carpet in my Camaro with new carpet. I removed everything from the car and then put everything back in the way that i had it. after i put the console in i notice the indicator light was not working then but radio started to twitch (shut off and turn back on) THEN my dash/climate control lights blew out....whats causing this?
I had somewhat of the same problem with mine, but mine would periodically go out and then come back on then go out and back on. it ended upp being my dimmer switch, maybe pull it out and inspect it for any damage, or mine was fried and i could smell it. i replaced it and have had no trouble since.

Car: Depends on the day!
Engine: the kind that runs on money
Transmission: One that holds up, I hope
Have you gone back and checked any place where a interior trim screw could have nicked a wire. Sounds like a short somewhere. I know on these cars there is a bundle of wires that run down the drivers side under the carpet retainer panel and behind/under the radio pod. Good luck

make sure you didn't hook the ground for your radio to the power supply for the light........that is a common problem with our cars.....I found out the hard way.......if you have a stock set-up then I'm not sure......good luck

What about the illumination wire in there, there is a wire that is connected to the dimmer switch to dim the lights on the radio as well... i don't have my haynes here or i could probably tell you what color the wire is.

the wire is black/dark brown....it will read as a ground...untill you turn the lights on.....then there is power to it

the dimmer light isn't hooked up....i got a pioneer head unit in....i didn't hook up the wire because theres no point. i didn't have a problem with it until i took out the console. I gotta go through ever thing...im ganna literally crawl through there and check it out lol.....i think the dimmer switch might be shot because when the lights worked you'd have to keep the dimmer up almost before the interior light come on or they would twitch out as well...
