Pics of stock B4C engines needed!
Hi guys,
I am in need of a new alternator, because when the car runs my lights flicker, but they're fine when its off. I would like to upgrade to a 140 amp alternator, and I prefer to use stock type parts, so no Powermaster etc. I have read in some places that the 91/92 B4C Camaro's came with a 140 amp alternator, but every picture I have ever found online is of the regular CS130 105 amp alternator that every other V8 Camaro got.
Please, someone prove me wrong! I have found the alleged part #'s for alternator and the bracket, but I don't want to waste money on something that won't work because I could not find the source of those part #'s.
Thanks,
Jeff

I have, but thanks. In re-reading it though, it certainly appears that they never came together stock b/c otherwise it wouldn't take grinding...
I'm wondering if I could make a bracket that wouldn't need grinding...

Yeah I've been lurking over on that thread. I started this before, and to find out if the B4C's ever had this alternator. I read someone "saw" one at a car show on a stock car, but I've never seen a pic.

You may try finding someplace to rewind the alternator. I took a CS130 to a local alternator shop (DC Engineering here in Bremerton) and had it rewound. They tested the output before returning it at 142 amps (about the max that case can put out). They also added a slightly smaller pulley to maximize the output at idle.
