thats whats known in the 350z circle as a "demon eye" halo. one of my friends has done it on his Z. basically he took a set of LED halo ebay headlights (NOT the CCFL ones) cut out the blue/white LED's, and put in red ones.

Theres a thread already started on a E36 headlight swap and I also included were you could purchase the red halo's for the head lights.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...onversion.html

Tell me about the halo's are one of the coolest ideas that bmw has done for their head lights. In the link I have posted above that company also installs halo's and they have them in different colors as well. I though about it if I would go with this converstion I would go with the red halo's like that black out ss 5th gen maro.

I'm thinking that if I can get the regular headlights open, or some new projector headlight I can paste the halo light ring to the inside and that would look pretty sick, no conversion needed!

Red would be illegal wouldn't it? Red is only allowed for the rear of the car - so be aware it's another excuse to have a dope dog scratch the paint!

I think regular red light bulbs are illegal, that's a halo it's not used to light the road.

its like having clear turn signals, they get you for impersonating an emergency vehicle.

no red or blue lights on the front of the vehicle, anywhere.

and tony, thanks for the link for the halos, be prepared to see some new custom work soon
edit: great minds think alike tony, haha

My idea was I hate aftermarket headlights how they have the dimond plate and all that just to flashy for my taste. What I though was takeing apart the original lights and buying some aftermarket lights but just using the housing and then get the original lense and combine it with the new housing I wonder if that would work?
