Turn signal light stays on.

When I turn on my headlights, of course the instrument panel lights come on. But my right side blinker indicator stays green all the time, until I turn on the passenger side blinker. Then it fleashes as it should. Any ideas?

Re: Turn signal light stays on.

This is typically a symptom of a bad turn signal switch.

Doing The Right Thing

Do the right turn signal & marker lamp function correctly?

Have you changed a right side bulb recently?

How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

The right side only flashes with the blinker on. The drivers side functions properly. I have changed both bulbs on the right side recently and cleaned out the sockets.

When you say:
The right side only flashes with the blinker on.

If you are saying the right turn signal flashes but the right side marker does not, then that’s consistent with a shorted right side marker socket, and will also cause the dash indicator problem.

The blinker and front side marker on the right side flash whenever I activate the turn signal.

Re: Turn signal light stays on.

Did you put in a LED bulb? I did & the dash indicator lit up like that. So I switched back to regular bulbs.

Re: Turn signal light stays on.

I had the same problem, even after I changed bulbs. When I bought the car, all the bulbs were 1156 or 1157. They are supposed to be 2056 or 2057... Once I changed them back to what they were supposed to be, everything worked fine. Also check wiring connections. My right front turn signal would short out every once and a while, creating the same problem.

Shadyredeyes,

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

Re: Turn signal light stays on.

A poor ground at the turnsignal socket will cause the light circuit to find ground through the turn signal circuit. Check the socket for corrosion or a broken ground tab.
