Left side headlights stopped working

A few days ago I noticed my drivers side head light was out. I put in a new one, turned the lights on and still nothing. The blinker works though. Hi beams don't work on the left either now. Everything on the passenger side works like it should and all taillights are still working too. The only other electrical problem in my car with lights is with the gauge lights. With headlights on and the gauge lights turned off or down all gauges work fine. But when I turn the gauge lights up the tach and voltage gauge needles don't move they just stick to the lowest point. Any help is appreciated

Re: Left side headlights stopped working

I cleaned off the ground connections for both left and right side. No luck with that so I grabbed a test light and with the lights turned on I don't have power at any of the 3 prongs

Re: Left side headlights stopped working

check fuses, if there good then most likely bad headlight connector

all fuses are good. Does anyone know anything else I can try before looking for a new connector?

Re: Left side headlights stopped working

before you replace the headlight connector I would check for power in the wires before they get to the connector. If no power in the wires before the connector then the problem is obviously not the connector.
I do not know much about the headlight circuit itself but would guess there would be a relay somewhere and that could be bad. I would start by looking at wiring diagrams.

There isn't any power in the wires, but once they go into the firewall I can't see where they go to. I don't think there are any relays for the headlights

Re: Left side headlights stopped working

All the things you mentioned go through the headlight switch. Have no idea if that's what's causing it or how to check it, but worth thinking about
