Need turn signal help

Hey guys, so my front left turn signal and left fender turn signal don't light up when I turn on the parking lights and I get the warning light on the dash, when I remove the front turn signal bulb the fender signal starts working, tested the socket with a test light and got no power, I put a new bulb and flasher in, do you guys think I need a new socket?

I would trace the wiring out as far as you can and look for a break or a ground. Just to make sure before you spend the money on something you don't need.

Forgot to mention that whenever I put on the left turn signal both the fender light and front signal flash fine

That sounds like a ground to me. You can check the socket, but if it works when you turn on the the turn signal, then the socket is probably fine. I have attached a diagram for your reference. Granted it's from a 1990, but the wiring should be extremely similar. There are two power sources that go to those lights: the head light switch and the turn signal switch. It appears that you have a ground somewhere from the headlight switch power to those lights.
What happens when both the parking lights and the turn signal are on?

Thanks for the help, when I put the turn signal on while the parking lights are on the turn signal works fine and how it should but once it's off it goes back to no light, also before it completely stopped working every time the light went out I was able to jiggle the bulb and get it to work again

Re: Need turn signal help

Maybe you do have a loose wire or something in the socket. Try messing with the wire(s) with the parking light on and see if you can get it to work. Looking at that diagram, both RH and LH side lights are powered by one supply from the headlight switch, so if it were a ground from the headlight power, it would most likely be affecting both lights. Check the light brown or tan wire that goes to both sides for breaks. If there are none, it just might be that socket...

I'll chase the wires down tomorrow morning and get back to you, might even just replace the socket to see if it solves it. Thanks for the diagram and the help man
