Look where it attaches to transmission. Or maybe the cable snapped or speedo gears are worn out.

It likely has nothing to do with the speedometer itself. I'd be looking at the cable from the transmission. Under the car.

There is no "cable" , it's a wire , cause it is an electronic speedometer . It's highly likely that when this different engine and transmission was put in that the TH350 didn't have the needed electrical speedometer drive (and had one for the old cable driven setup) . I wouldn't even want to attempt a guess as to what's actually there or not now , much beyond the notion that a 91 firebird most certainly does (or in his case , did) have an electric speedo .

Right. My bad. The cable was phased out in 89. The 90-92s were electric. Sorry.

Re: speedometer

I'm using the adapter on my th400. It basically spins the unit like it would a cable, this is converted to an electronic signal which goes to the speedo. No cable involved. The gps just gives a signal straight to the speedo, again no cable involved

Mine screws on the outlet where the cable would have been originally
