I recently purchased a 91 Camaro for cheap. I had a 85 Z28 in high school in the 90's and wanted another one. I've had a 72 Nova since 2005 and love it too. The previous owner of the 91 took it to have it painted and guy lost key. He replaced the key switch with another one with the pellet and obviously it didn't start. He has it bypassed where it will crank but no fuel. I bought a bypass module off ebay to fix it. My question is, has anybody else ever bought this VATS Bypass Module? I have found where to wire everything except where white wire goes. It says it goes to Fuel Enable Circuit 229. I don't have a Camaro book yet but reading thru the forums here have found that it is under the passenger side of dash and possibly a dark blue wire. I've also read that there was 2 or 3 dark blue wires over there. Just need a little help as I'm new to VATS. I will include pics of module
I've seen that product before but did not try it...you have some other options with VATS as well, you could disconnect the starter enable relay and run a jump wire from the ends (the sockets where the 2 biggest wires go, one is green I believe and the other yellow IIRC) and get a new PROM with VATS deleted...that will solve your VATS for good. Tuned Performance on here did mine and also added a few things like removal of cold start sequence to 89' up for faster cold start, cooler temp for fans to kick on and a few other performance things and it really helped my car. Also if you search you can find pics of the wires I mentioned earlier to get a better idea.
Thanks for the info. Sorry I'm late replying to any comments, hurt my back again the day I posted this and been in bed since. I will try to get this thing wired up with this module to get it running. I may end up putting a LS in it eventually but wanted to at least have it running to move it around. Again thanks too everyone who replied.
