Brights think that they are on
Hi there,
So I have had this problem for a few years now, and I am looking to do some quality of life fixes.
Essentially, I obtained a set of custom Projector Headlights a few years ago.
They are "Plug And Play", however the primary headlight acts as both the brights and the Regular lights.
When I turn on the regular headlights, the car thinks the brights are on, when I turn on the brights, the car thinks the regular headlights are on.
How would I go about correcting this?

This is a standard H4 pinout. Our low beam is the tan wire, high is green, ground is black. They're pretty easy to repin. Or you can order a little adapter with spade connectors.

So I repinned it as to match our pigtail. Now I cant turn the brights off after turning them on?
Actually after about 3 seconds the passenger side brights shut off.
Driver side stays on?
The indicator on the dash reads properly now, just a bit weird.
When I wire it the previous way with the low beams in the high beam position they turn on and off as normal, except the indicator light is on for the low beams.
I could just shut off the lights real quick if I need to shut off high beams, but that's not really practical for late night 2 lane highway country driving lol.

The way you're describing it makes it sound like the low/hi connectors were/are reversed. Should be three wires on the low beam circuit and two on the hi-beam.
In general though those H4 "plug and play" lights never quite work correctly, unlike firebirds which are kinda more like an H4 set-up. Anyway, I think the problem lies with camaros because they have 4 hi-beams, since our low beams function as hi's as well feeding power back through the harness when we switch our hi beams on. Firebirds dont do this, since they only have one hi/ one low beam, but that's just a guess though

Re: Brights think that they are on
It's strange to me, because when I have them set up the original way, which was the low beams activate with the brights on, and the brights activate when I shut off the low beams.
They worked seamlessly, minus the indicator light on the dash.
I tried every combination of wires, and although the indicator light is off, I cant properly turn off the brights when they are on.
Even weirder that only the passenger side brights shut off.
Just confused lol.
Gonna leave it with the indicator working properly, but it is a bit of a minor frustration.

I also have an always on Brights indicator after swapping to the Hollys. They work just fine, the dash light just goes from somewhat blue bright indicator to even brighter when the brights are on.
