Radio sound issues

I recently inherited a 1987 Firebird TransAm with 48k miles. The radio system is completely stock. Radio lights up, changes stations and works visibly. Antenna extends and retracts as it should as well. Absolutely zero sound from any speaker. changed the radio fuse and still nothing. Ordered a new Pioneer HU with kit from Crutchfield. Installed all of it with the relay for the antenna and again works visibly as it should to include bluetooth connection, but still zero sound from speakers. Am I just too hard headed to believe all 4 stock speakers are out? or is there another issue I am missing?

Re: Radio sound issues

Iunno... are the wires hooked up at the back of the speakers? Are the speakers even still THERE?

Re: Radio sound issues

Perhaps the amplifier(S) in the radio are fried. if the ohm rating on the current speakers did not match the ohm rating of the radio & that fried the radio amp(s).

Pretty high, if somebody had a bigger amp in there at one point, blew them up, and later put the stock radio back in to sell the car so they could keep the other.

Typical PO s***.
