305 to 350
i was wondering if anyone or two people could put together a list of mods i will have to make, things i will have to change, and things i wont need when i drop my 350 this week. i had a stock lg4 in it, and i am dropping my new engine, this is what it has edelbrock 600cfm carwith electric choke. and a stock replacement hei ignition. so what do i need bacally and what dont i, and how can i hook up my choke, the plugs are different
by the way, both engines are carbed
thanks in advance

I don't really know too much about 305 to 350, but when I changed my 301pont to a 350, the factory Y-pipe wouldn't fit, because of the different heith of the heads. I'm probably way off with your situation, but you might want to find out.

What year is the 350? About the only thing that could be different or a problem is which side the dipstick is on (driver's side will run into the stock exhaust manifold).
Other than that, it's a matter of what should be changed, not what has to be. Spark plugs are dependant upon the heads (what are you using?). The LG4 exhaust is terrible, even for an LG4 - completely new stuff, from heads to rear bumper, is in order. Stock air cleaner, same story.

i have a aftermarket air box, strait in plugs in the heads, and i hope i will be getting a new hooker exhaust system, and the dipstick is passenger, i think, but i dont know the year off hand. but what about the extra wireing and such, like all the sencors that the 305 had and the 350 dont, what do i do with that junk. thanks

Personally, I'd use the 305 equipment, what you are calling "junk", and sell the stuff currently on the 350. Let someone else deal with that low-flow, non-feedback Edelbrock and HEI "junk".
But, that's just my opinion...
If the 350 has passenger-side dip stick (I actually assumed it was older), then you need to make sure what kind of rear main seal it has - one or two piece. If one-piece, you'll need a different flex plate as well.
I see now your sig says "400 heads". I sure hope not.

To me, "simple" is not having to do anything with it. Except for the actual installation and the mods, I haven't touched my computer controlled system in the 3 years I've been driving it.
If yours is for show not go, then your plan is fine. For a daily driver like mine, though, the CC system is really nice.
Are you really using factory 400 heads?

im not to sure, the heads did not have any steam holes drilled, so i dont know what they are really. but any ways, the heads are going to be new bacaclly once i get them back. but i woul prefer to get rid of all the stuff under the engine bay and make it much more simple, so i dont have to worry about all the computer work for now.
