hey guys,

NEWBIE HERE,

Me and my friend just swapped a 350 TPI into my 88 Iroc which had a 305 TPI in it. We just finished the other day, we set the timing to 12 degrees and all that bull****. I put on an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and I set it at 42 lbs. The motor just feels like its still capable of putting out a lot more power. I wanted to know what other kinda tuning stuff has to be done to a new motor when it is installed. I want to know around what ballpark I need to set the fuel pressure at. By the way, the motor is a 300 horsepower, 375 lbs torque, it has brand new 21 lb. injectors. Thanx a lot guys and any help is greatly appreciated.

get a chip tuned for that 350 and you'll feel quite a bit more power.

stock injectors where 22 on the 350 tpi's, and 19 for the 305's.

why did u get 21's? just curious, also it seems the fuel pressure ur running is alittle low for what u have i know some people who run near 45 psi or higher for stock applications. might want to try bumping up the fuel a tad and see if that helps.

i see ur from Maryland, make sure u check out things going on in the mid-atlantic board sometime.

You could check/set you Min. air and TPS...Do a search and you will find directions on this...

Learn to burn your own PROMs...

Is there any trouble with the swap?
Any 'special' things to watch for?
I'm looking to do the exact same swap.
Was wondering if stock 305 injectors would be okay for 350?

Cliff, I was told by Scoggin Dickey that 19# injectors would work fine in a 350 application. In fact, Edelbrock uses them in their 350 motors - however, you should get a fuel pressure regulator and get the car tuned on a wideband 02.

Thanks for the tip Steve. Do you know if the stock tranny will hold? Maybe it would be wise to get it rebuilt?

The TH 700 R4 is a good trans, but like them all, it has down falls. Get it rebuilt before any trouble starts so you don't risk ruining it. Just my 2 cnts.
