Syclone in my 88
Just installed a 4.3 Turbo in my 88. Want to know if anyone else has done the same. And it works too.

That would be much nicer if it was a Camaro. Hehe had to sorry.
More pics would be appreciated, does the downpipe clear the a/c box ok ? You using the stock exhaust manifolds and crossover, or something different to clear on the camaro ? Engine mounts ?
Some details would be nice, info on everything except the wiring, wires are noooo problem

Ok here we go
My bird had a 305 TBI, Man that thing was a dog when i bought
it i was told that it had been rebuilt. Well if it was the person who
rebuilt should be shot. too many problems. Anyway My uncle salvaged a 91 syc, So i got an exellent deal on the engine and tranny. Then i got to work. I had to use the Syc motor mounts and move them back 2" for the starter, I used the cross mem that was on the bird for the trans, It had the T5, I just drilled new holes for the mounts and cross member. I did have a problem with the AC Box, The AC did'nt work when i first got it so i just cut out what i had too i dont use AC anyway. The engine drop right in after that, I could'nt beleave that i did'nt have no more mods to make it fit. Next the tranny it came with 700R4 it had a transfer case so i had to trade it. My friend had just rebuilt one out of a Vet that he races. So it was really beefed up but it had to be resplined so i could use the Syc Toruqe converter. Now the drive shaft was to short so just went to my uncle's yard and picked one
that would work. And the rest went pretty smooth. If you need anymore info let me know. Oh and i had my first test tonight it was a Mittsu Eclipse. So now i could start painting Victory flags on
my right fender.
