Sensors in heads?
I'm in the middle of my 88 305 to built 84 355 swap, and the 305 heads had sensors in them, the 84 obvioiusly doesn't, but i need to install them. only problem is that the threads for the holes on the 84 355 are a bit larger than the holes on the 305s and just don't thread in.
what do I do??
also there is this copperish looking tube that sticks out of the block, on the back, on the 305 it was attached to some solenoid, in the 355 it's just a tube, what is that and what is it for?

Use pipe bushings for the sensors in the heads.

If you don't want to use the oil pressure sender, or you want to use the other port on the side of the block, replace the tube with a pipe plug.
The driver side head has the coolant temperature sender, and the passenger side head may have a fan switch.
If you're missing any of these, you can get replacements over the counter at any parts store.

You need two 1/2" x 3/8" black steel bushings, you can get them at your local home depot or plumbers supply. Shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks.

They don't have to be black steel, they can be any metal. Brass is most common. Auto parts stores will have them, too.
