305 350 TPI units are the same..... 350's have a different knock sensor ($20) and 22# injecters compared to 19#'s........ If you have a choice IT IS VERY WISE TO GET A SPEED DENSITY TPI SYSTEM (The maf system has a mass air flow sensor that will block A LOT of air the supercharger is pushing) the Speed Density systems were on all 90-92 TPI systems..... If you wanna see what im talking about look at a 89 iroc then look at a 90 iroc..... the 89 iroc has a sensor that calculates how much air is going in... not to mention its a $300 part when it goes! Best of luck! you got any more ?'s

WHY??? would you spend all of that money just to make it just like a stock tpi especially getting a stock tpi cam heads and all of the other crap, they did not come with tbe best stuff in the world so i would not go around and look for stock heads and a cam of a L98 or a lb9 you would just be wasting you money and time, go and look for a different cam and heads. i have a tpi setup in my garage right now along with some tpi heads sitting in my room and a cam that is still in my engine that is in the back yard but i ask you WHY?? if you want a stock tpi get a new car....... a tpi car not a tbi car

if i were you i wouldn't go with the stock componets(cam, heads)you can get a set world products s/r 305 heads for less than $700 and you can find a good mild cam pretty cheap to if you look hard enough.
if your plan is to throw a S/C on your ride in the future you should put a fuel pump in that will support the S/C later when you do put it on.you will need to up-grade to a higher flow fuel pump for your TPI system anyway.
as for weather you should go with a speed density or maf?there are a few things you need to think about.speed density can produce more horsepower than maf but!speed density needs more ECM(computer)tunning than a maf system.a maf system is more flexable to climent changes
speed density systems are pretty hard to come by.GM only made them of for two or three years for that intake style.now you can change the maf system to s/d
if you are going to add a s/c to the mix i would try to find(if possible)a TPI system off a 91-92 GTA,T/A or a Z28!with speed density you have more options on how you want to run your air intake and getting the TPI off of a 5.7 you'll have the bigger injectors(22lbs)that should be enough to handle the s/c.
oh and the maf does not restrict air flow as much as most people think don't let that prevent you from getting a good deal on a cheap maf TPI system

I have(well until It blew, Im replacing with 350 now) a 305 TPI SC Trans Am. Stock heads and cam will work, and with a supercharger it is fast, but a cam designed with a supercharger in mind, and heads (possibly with a little lower compression) would make it soooo much better.

ok, im going to buy a tpi setup at a junkyard it will cost less than 500 bucks with the computer and everthing(heads, cam) i will be doing this to my daily driver so i can only afford to have it not running for a day or so at the time.....i will convert FULLY to tpi and have it tuned and making the 230hp its supposed to so i dont have to deal with a whole bunch of variables (like if i put everything on at once) if it doesnt run right.....now after its running healthy i wil put in my order for a supercharger(im thinking of something between 8-12 psi) and i will install it over a weekend and get it running good......any suggestions on which company to get a supercharger from? and what rear end gear would be good? 3:42? 3:73?
