Hey guys what are or is the best combo of parts to get 400hp? It need to be street friendly to this my daily driver. Please help.

 

Does it need to be emissions legal? Are you willing to change your axle ratio if necessary? If not, what gearing do you have?

 

Yes, and maybe. I have stock 3.08 in but might go to 3.55

 

To do it, you're going to need AFR 180 cc heads, with 65cc chambers, flat top pistons, headers, 3" cat-back, Edelbrock intake manifold Extrude-Honed, and a COMP custom 3314/3314-112 cam. With an automatic, a 3.42:1 gear will do, but if you're starting from a TBI 305 / 5-speed car, that T5 has a 0.63:1 fifth, so go 3.73:1.

 

what size of carb. would I need?

 

To be legal, you must keep your stock carb or EFI. If yours was built with a computer-controlled Q-Jet, it will support 400 HP.

 

are emissions test in your area visual and sniffer, or just sniffer? if it's visual you must make sure that your heads including intake has an egr port and the heads have a heat crossover IIRC...

 

Visual? I called they check for the factory emision equipment.
