Car: 82 Firebird/ 79 Camaro Berlinetta
Engine: 151 Pontiac Iron Duke TBI/ 305 SBC
Transmission: THM200/ THM200r4
Axle/Gears: 2.93/ 2.41
Checklist for v8 swap?
Ive got an 82 firebird with the TBI iron duke I know theyre rare but unless youve actually driven a 2.5 f body you know how slow it is and I want something more powerful under the hood.
So Im getting a complete 5.7 tbi drive train from a 91 cadillac from my grand father
The engine is high miles so Im gonna tear it down at school and do the whole nine yards
But Ive got questions
Since my car already has a electric fuel pump in the tank will it have enough pressure for the 5.7 or should i replace it with a fuel pump for 5.0 5.7 f body?
Will my drive shaft from the TH200 work with 700r4 or will it be too shoft or too long?
Since the 700r4 is a 91 model and is electrical spedo and my car is mechanical is there a way to convert the transmission to use a mech spedo(I dont get to cover transmissions at my school so Im clueless)
Will my transmission crossmember work with the 700r4 too?
So far I know Ill need from the cadillac-
Engine/transmission
Wiring Harness/ECM
Motor Mounts
And if anyone can answer the questions above that will be great
Id love for the swap to go smooth and prevent problems in the run up

It's basically the same as a V6 to V8 swap, so read that sticky.
You'll need a different driveshaft and fuel pump.
