Cannot separate T5 and 305
I'm ready to remove my old 305 (TBI is it matters) and T5 so put i my LS1 and T56. Last night was it. I took the transmission crossmember/mount off (driveshaft and torque arm are off already), I took loose the electricals, the clutch master cylinder, and 6 bolts from the bellhousing, 3 on each side.
The T5 is sitting on a jack so it doesn't hang too low, but I CANNOT get the transmission to move. I'm pulling it back, I'm prying, nothing. Am I missing something?

The bellhousing from the engine? Or trans from the bellhousing? I find it easier to pull the bellhousing from the engine once the trans is removed from it. Otherwise it is possible the dowel pins from the engine to the bellhousing are stuck most likely.

It sounds like your input shaft is in a bind with the pilot bushing or clutch disk.
You probably need to separate the bellhousing from the transmission. 4 bolts. After doing that, it should just slide out.

Use a little heat and lube on the bellhousing around the pins. Move trans up and down to help break it free. May need a helper. As said above, it's easier to pull trans from the bell 1st.

Re: Cannot separate T5 and 305
As said above, remove the 4 bolts that bolt the transmission to the bell housing. It is much easier to remove that way. Leave the bell housing on the engine until it is out of the car.
Do you want to sell the T-5?

Re: Cannot separate T5 and 305
Update. I got it off.
I did end up having to remove the transmission from the bellhousing. I could NOT get the passenger side of the bellhousing off.
Once I got the transmission off, I pulled the engine and once it was all out, the bellhousing came off pretty easily.
