Cant find anything on swapping engine

I'm thinkin of buying a 84 firebird witha blown 2.8 v6 for 250dollars and swapping in a 350 or 302 from the junkyard. i was wondering where to find information on how to make this swap and what it would cost. i ran a search on the forum but didnt find anything. please help.

When you do a search, make sure you chose the forum to search in. Type "v6 to v8" (leave out the quotes) in the search of keyword area and make sure you choose the motor swap forum form the drop down list under search forum. I found 211 posts, which I am sure will start you on your way.
By the way welcome to the boards and good luck.

Let's see if this works. I know I've posted a lot on this, so I searched for my name in the Motor Swap forum. Trying to post a link to results...

Why would anyone go from 2.8-3.4? That's like throwing away money... Spend cash on mounts etc just to go from high 17s to low 17s? Something smells like a Civic...

why go from a 305 to a 350?

30hp & 40tq more than a 2.8, bolts to the same tranny, reuse origonal induction system & no smog police worries. all for around $600, depending on the price of the motor.

cuz when you have a V6 and need a new engine a 3.4 is economical, easy, and gives you a sizeable power increase

something smells like it needs to open its mind
