hell yes! Back in the days of the 305, I installed a set of edelbrock TES headers and ypipe. I dropped a solid 2 tenths and sometimes three. I also noticed a massive increase in torque and could shift at a higher rpm. Don't go for the cheep stuff like flowtech, buy quality headers like SLP (probibly the best) or Edelbrock. It also made the car much louder and deeper.

If you are gonna go with headers then expect to pay some $$$ for a good setup. I just bought an SLP package brand new for about $500. My next move is to get them coated which will cost about another $150. You can probably get a better deal or find ways to save money, but after hearing the opinions of people on this board, the money I spent will be WELL worth it.

I have a 91' RS that I put some summit headers on. (or, HAD them put on, rather) I noticed a DEcrease in torque, if anything. More noise from the engine area, too. If I had known then what I know now... I would have spent the "mod money" on something else.
I don't think headers are so effective on these (305 TBI)cars, like they are on other V8's. I would've spent the money on a gear or shift kit...
I'm not knocking headers.. I just didn't get any noticable power gains. Nothing I've done to this stupid car has increased power. Uh oh.. this is turning into a TBI post...hehee..

Don't buy Edlebrock headers, just look around this forum, many people have posted problems and weld restricions with them.

The best bang per beck headers have to be Headmen or Hooker headers. However from what I've been reading Headmens have some problems fiting T5 cars. Nothing bad about Hookers from what I hear.

Some 305s came with really sorry heads and wimpy cams. Such engines aren't worth the expense since the heads present the greatest restriction, not the exhaust manifolds. See what kind of cam is in your motor. The 305s with automatics often had lame cams in them.

There's no sense in making a lot of noise and not have the HP to back it up!
