92 RS 305 TBI Headers and Exhaust???

Alright, my exhaust is pretty much completely shot, and I need to install new everything. What have you other 92 305 TBI guys done? I want a stock looking exhaust and cat, no longtubes. My car has a 2.5" dynomax exhaust designed for it, but it was cheap and I'm willing to trash it if necessary. I need to be able to bolt it up by myself without any fabrication, if possible. I think I read that you can bolt on an entire system designed for a 86-91 TPI for much better flow. Is this true? What are my options, I'm trying to keep cost down. I think I want coated headers though, they're that much better right? If possible please name names and put part numbers. I'm mostly an LS1 guy so I don't know much about my 92.

Thanks for all your help and expertise,
Robert

Well, I'd say Hooker 2055s into a Catco 3'' in/out cat, into maybe a 3'' dynomax cat-back, or maybe Hooker while leaving the tips off.

The coated Hooker headers will be about $500 or so I think, 2055 is the part # .

Thanks, will the install require any welding? Also, where can I find the parts for a good price?

JS92RS: Did you use the SLP's with AIR or without?
What part number was the Catco cat?
Is your 3" catback designed for use with a 86-91 TPI?
Was the install done by you?
Did you need to weld anything?

Thanks, sorry for the barage of questions.

part # CTO-9118 from www.SummitRacing.com

Is your 3" catback designed for use with a 86-91 TPI?
Yes, part # FLO-17233 from SummitRacing.com

Was the install done by you?
No

Did you need to weld anything?
Yes

Thanks, sorry for the barage of questions.
No problem, anytime.
There are other combinations out there that you can go with that would probably cost less than my set-up.

Thank you very very much. I have been looking at a whole bunch of products and am now starting to get an idea of what I am going to do. I thought I would be able to do the entire install myself, but I just don't think that I will be able to do everything without welding. There are just too many variable with these cars I guess. Thanks again, your imput has been invaluble.

Do any other 92 RS 5.0 TBI owners have any other suggestions or can you tell what you have done?

Im running hooker 2055s, 3" in/out Catco cat, and a Flowmaster Force II catback. I went with the single out setup because it supposedly flows better. Its quiet as hell under idle, even with the lil cam, but when you get on it you can tell its there. I dunno, I still wish it was a little louder, although that makes sneaking in at night hard
