SLP 1 3/4 and angle plug heads.........

ok hears the deal got the slp 1 3/4 stainless headers. figured ok it says **maybe spark plug clearance problems with some angle plug head**

well there is, now i can fix this but dont want to have to cut and reweld stuff together. i know they make shortie spark plugs to fit for problems like these but......do they make all different heat ranges and what not or are they basic plugs?
also anyone running these headers....any problems with Y pipe bolting up?

I'm currently running that exhaust on a 406 with aluminum D-ports(which are angle plug heads)and I didn't have any problems, nor did I have any with the Sportsman II's that I use to run......Neither or these heads did I have to run the shorty plugs....If you don't mind me asking, which heads are you trying to use?

That's the same head I'm running on my yet to be installed motor (383). Unfortunately Brodix told me this head was meant to be a race head, so all they planned for was long tube headers...I've got a thread in here on the same subject because I think I'm gonna end up running the Hooker Super Comps along with the Mufflex 3" Y-Pipe and 4" Cat Back.......I'v been looking for shorties for a long time and I think I've come to the conclusion that the only way to do it is modify the brodix to accept tapered plugs and sink them in about 1/4" and even then I didn't want to take the chance of ruining the head.....My local speed shop said it would probaly run about 300-400 to do it and it wouldn't be a guarantee to work, because the plugs are so close to a water jacket.....thats why I decided on the Hookers and the Mufflex system.

Are you saying the TES from Edelbrock fit.....That sucks cause I gave those away when I bought the SLP's...Hell I might just go back to those rather than spend 1500 on a complete new system....And you had the TES headers on the angle plug Brodix? Did you have clearence with the normal plug or did you have to go to the Accel shorties?

Can you remember if you had enough room for the plug wire boot? And can you remember what plug it was that you had in it? The reason I'm asking is I'm not real familiar with the flat face plugs.
