Help Please! Sulfur Smell!?!?!
Well the story is after i got my new super-flo cat and my v-force muffler put on with new tips. When i step on the gas or excel fast i will get this rich strong sulfer smell. It never did this before the exhaust upgrade. The old cat was clogged to the max. I will also add my (check engine) light comes on too shortly after i smell this. any ideas what it can be, my thery its running too rich or something. please help, thx

I believe the sulfer smell could be the new cat. 'breaking in' ?
The check engine light could be due to the free flow nature of your new setup, their might not be enough backpressure to keep the timing correct. I doubt it though. I put an almost no backpressure setup on my otherwise stock 305 and had no problem. Has your engine temp. been affected?

in my experience cats tend to smell funny for a few hundred miles after they're put on. maybe it's just me.

What kind of gas do you use? Alot of times that smell comes from sulfer in the gas itself. Might want to try a different brand or station and see if that helps.
That "funny smell" is probably from chemicals used during the manufacturer process. I know what your talking about. Never had one smell like sulfer thou.

You need to tune that puppy up!! The sulfer smell is unburned fuel reaching the cat and being burned in the cat. This is exactly what melted your first cat. Fix the fuel/tune up problem or you'll be putting another cat on it shortly!
