Takin converter off is a dumb idea
I seen it happend, some guy has a 91 Camaro Rs, he took his converter off to ran a straitght pipe but kept his muffler, before his Camaro didn't blow anything out of the Exhaust, and now since he took the converter off, his camaro blows mad smoke, when i will do my exhaust i have to get a different 3 inch converter from Jegs, like magnaflow or dynomax, i don't care wat anyone says, converters and smog pumps do prevent ur car from burning off black smoke, i may not get the best performance, but i don't wonna see my car blows black smoke, it doesn't look good

Maybe his car was running rich for a long time and thats why his cat plugged. Therefore when he took the cat off there was nothing in the exhaust to pick up the black crap before it went out.

Geeze....
My 92 Camaro with the 3.1 in it has over 170,000 miles on it and has never smoked a day in it's life with me. And I've had the Cat Convertor off of it since around 100,000.
Now, having said that, watch me go to start it and it smoke like cheech an' chong.

Umm.......yeah.......wtf are you talking about? There are plenty of people running without cats and their cars are not smoking "like mad". Mine would be one of them. As stated earlier, it's not due to the cat, it called tuning. If it was tuned it probably wouldn't be running that way.
