headers question
ok, so I drive an 85 Iroc, but most companies have headers listed for the 86 and up irocs, but forget about the 85. i want to do my exhaust from the headers back and was wondering if i got the 86 headers, and the exhaust for that if it would bolt up, or is it for clearence purposes?

i have the flowtech you can get from advanced, but they dont have emissions on them. so if you can get rid of the emissions on your car get those, and they come with a y pipe you have too get welded.
----------
and yes they should work,or call and talk too the company and they should help you out,or any parts store can help you

Hey 3vi1p3nguin, I think we are from the same place in Michigan.
Find headers with a y pipe, it's the easiest way to go and still have ground clearance.

The following will fit your requirements: Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR). Direct fit 3-inch mandrel-bent system from the collectors back (no fabing, no welding). Recommended.

James C, does Hooker make the 2055's without the A.I.R. system tubes. Also, does the y-pipe that comes with the headers bolt directly to the stock large oval opening square 4-bolt flange? Thanks, Badman

Instead of cutting the emmisions tubes on the headers and welding them, I ordered mine without. If you go that route, make sure you ask for headers with an 02 bung otherwise you'll have to add it.

The only headers I know of that will bolt directly to the 4 bolt cat is the edelbrock TES # EDL-68733 at summit. I would rather go with the Hooker 2055's and convert the whole car to a slip fit 86+ cat and cat back.
