true dual 3" sidepipes just finished, pics inside
hey guys just finished up my exhaust with my dad and just wanted to know what u guys think of it. it consists of ceramic coated hedmen longtubes, to 3 inch Catco cats, to classic chambered 3 inch straight through mufflers to the sidepipes. Ground clearance is decent, it clears all the speedbumps in my area as long as u go over them slowly, and its not obnoxiously loud, unless you floor it haha. it screams like a C6-R at full throttle, i'll try to get videos up soon.

looks nice but i agree about powdercoating the pipes black, or at least using a high temp black paint, so you can't see the pipes.

setup looks good but i agree, paint the pipes to hide them more

I'd leave it just the way it is, show off your craftsmanship. My buddies got a 83 firebird with 3" pipes same as yours, but painted black, and it sure doesn't make much of a difference, in other words not really worth the effort.

go get some flat black charcoal grill paint from ace hardware and paint those pipes, they look so much better hidden.

i like the way the tips look in bare metal, how do u guys think it would look if i sprayed it with the high temp bbq paint on all the piping up until the tips, and then leave the tips bare? also to the two guys who were talking about no ground clearance, theres 3 inches of ground clearance on both sides, it just looks like less in the picture because the car was sitting on a hill at mosport international raceway, the car has no problem going over speedbumps. thanks to everyone else who had something good to say.

yeah definitely leave the tips from the last bend back bare metal, or if you can even get some chrome tips that'd look great!
Re: true dual 3" sidepipes just finished, pics inside
looks damn nice man... just did the same thing to my 1982 305 T/A. yours must be a bit higher than mine cuz i got 2 1/2 inch pipe and i rub all over the place... it sux but i think its worth it cuz it looks bad a$$.. as far as painting the pipes goes i say ya keep it the way it is... show that $#!t off.... keep her lookin good!
