All you will need is collector rings (520-11430), clamps if you dont have a welder, cutoff saw, and your choice of muffs.
The Kit is all mandrel bent.
Available in 2-1/4", 2-1/2", and 3" diameters, each kit includes:
Four 4-foot straight sections
Four 45° elbows
Four 90° elbows
Four 180° U-bends
Made in the USA of 16-gauge aluminized tubing, one end of each section is expanded for a simple slip-fit installation ready to be welded or clamped
555-30672 3" Street Rod Exhaust Kit $249.99

Very nice, I had dual 3 inch on mine routed the same way, yours looks very tight over the crossmember but you did a great jog getting it over the axle and panhard brace..
my link "the machine" has pictures of my old pipes...
you can get 40 series mufflers back there, just need a bit of hammering on the pare tire well and cargo well

Hey thanks for the comment and the note on the 40 series.. I ordered the super 44s (4X9.5X13)today. They are a bit smaller than the standard or super 40s (5X10X13).
I found some photos of you exhaut on the net. Thats where I got the idea of routing. I did have to move the collectors back because of my SS lift bar frame connectors. The hooker collector hit the frame and was not able to attach the headers to the motor.
I just hope it does not rattle......

Re: New 3" dual exhaust BBC
Thanks for the info
You're not wrong those dang hookers fit like a real pos
Have you looked at Ed Quay for headers ?
Sounds like they arn't a PERFECT fit either but somewhat better than those hookers
I had to beat the living S#IT out of mine to make em fit without "rattling"
then they managed to drop from 17/8" ( pathetic) to about 11/2" in places.
don't think I could route the same as you as I have 31/2" prop and a Jeg's adjustable torque arm ( which is a MASSIVE bit of kit but works real good ).

Re: New 3" dual exhaust BBC
OK i have some questions.
First both of you are running the Hooker super comps. I have heard both good and bad about them. whats your opinion right now i am using the patriot shorty headers and i don't like how i have to run the exhaust. this is a street driven car also.
secondly this is for rat infested. Does your carb/ nos plate allow you to fit under a 4 inch cowl. on mine I have a 454-r intake with a holley 850 and a 1 inch nos plate and i can not close my hood with the 4 inch cowl my hood is the goodmark steel hood.
thirdly do either of think there would be a performance advantage of me changing out my patriot headers to the procomps. honestly it seems like my car has more but isn't flowing enough out to run right. runs rich all the time.
alittle about the motor I got the motor from my father inlaw he use to have it in his 75 vega and ran 10.40's on motor. it's a 73 hipo block with keith black 12to1 pistons lunati cam (solid) 1.7 roller rockers on 69 427 closed chamber heads the comp ratio is 13.5 to 1 the carb i have is the carb he use to use on the motor when he had itin the vega. I just had it rebuilt and I know little about carbs but it's a 850 jetted or flowed or something to a 930 not sure what is involved in that but the throdle blades have been smoothed and some other stuff done to it that they told me when i got it back but honestly can't remember. his headers were super comps too but they had something like 2 or 2 1/8 primary tubes. but wouldn't fit in the iroc so my son sold them. the patriots have something like 1 7/8 primary tubes. do you think that could be some of the issue with it running rich. another funny quirk is when i close my hood it doesn't want to run right i can idle the car all day long close the hood within a minute it dies. ???

Woah
That's an old thread (2007)!!
I no longer have the car I cut it up and sold it in bits
Kept motor and trans for my 67 nova ( now with 555 pump gas motor and running 8.7's in street car !)
I did always gave issues with the headers and running rich !!
Yes u could shut my hood (just) but mine was a fibreglass lift off hood.
I ran the "shorty's" ONCE it ran like **** !!
Sorry but I'm from ENGLAND as in next door to the queen. Lol
I hope you get as much fun out the car as I did I notice there are a lot more third gens racing now and ALOT more parts available
Cheers
