Header Leak

I just put a set of new edelbrock headers on and they have a leak. I have tightened them twice and still have a header leak. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Re: Header Leak

Yeah, that's a problem with those.

Which gaskets are you using? You might have to use two gaskets.

Re: Header Leak

Had the same problem, just use thicker gaskets, that seems to solve the problem

Re: Header Leak

my edelbrocks were leaking too, mine were because the bolts came loose, I tightened the bolts and I burnt the crap out of my finger that day when I was trying to reattach my temp gauge wire- it fell off the sending unit

Re: Header Leak

We use copper gaskets with the Edelbrock headers on my dads car,no leaks yet. We use copper header gaskets on almost everything.

Re: Header Leak

I guess I went overkill...

I used percy's dead soft aluminum and split lock bolts... No leaks
