Re: Header question
I had to slightly dent a primary on both sides to clear the starter (aftermarket) and k-member (aftermarket).
Getting around a 700r4 trans is tricky but doable.

Re: Header question
Depends on if you're going for duals or a single pipe.
Duals are much more difficult.
Shorties are the easiest but it depends on what you're looking for torque vs. power-wise.

Re: Header question
well im just looking for a good sound, and long tubes jus seem like the way to go. I just wanted to get ideas on how bad it would be to do. and if i should just go with shorties, and if so what kind?

Re: Header question
Unless you need the specific performance characteristics of long tubes,
shorties are a good overall compremise for general street use:
-- improved performance,
-- easier installation
-- no clearance problems (grinding the bottom off, over bumps/dips)

Re: Header question
What shorty header would you suggest that i get? And will it basically be just a bolt right up kinda thing?

Re: Header question
there is a guy on the boards named dyno don. He makes a 1 3/4 shorty header that I think is better than anything else out there. There will be a small difference in power as compared to long tubes. But for the ease of installation and ground clearance shorties are the way to go. i have a set of his shorties and my motor made 496 ft tq and 476 hp at the motor

Re: Header question
Are his headers like direct bolt on? and how much do they run?

Re: Header question
you can pm him about the price, but they fit perfectly. A bunch of people on this board have them and would say the same thing
