As for the dr side it was a good thing it could be pulled so easily. I had to cut the rear A arm mount back and I'll get it re boxed back in so it will retain its integrity.

I also had to trim the bell housing where the fork is. Once I put the header gasket on there was a comfortable amount of distance. I did a dry fit of the Y pipes So I could cut the intermediate pipe. I used a pipe expander to open it to slip fit the Y, lemme tell ya, your a baaaaaaad man if you get this to work with a breaker bar. I used my impact and that barely worked.

With all the parts together everything lined up nicely and junctioned perfectly into the intermediate pipe. This was with a T-56, the ad said for automatics but being a 56 is narrower it worked nicely and tucked cleanly.

For the cost it cat be beat, esp since it saves me a trip to the exhaust shop.

I'm going to have the area on the control arm re boxed in. In the other pic shows how I clearanced the fork area on the bell housing.

My how the light makes it look rougher than it really is.

The first pic is an idea of the cutting I had to do to my Hawks xmem because of Alston SFC's. I Ned the Hawks piece because my Spohn xmem wouldn't have the clearance for the LT's.

The second pic is distance between the control arm and the header.

Great pics! Do you think they would work with a stock cross member?

If you mean the trans xmem, I would think not but with the way the pipes that go between the header and Y you could try and get them to hump over the stock piece.

If there is an angle you want me to take a pic of I'll comply as best as poss.

Thanks for the reply So to be absolutely sure you installed a couple of sets on a 305/350 with a T5 and a stock trans crossmember with minor trimming?

Oh, on a T5 it will take reworking the entire header.

The problem is the slave cylinder.

Here's the same setup as a T5 but with a TKO, uses a T5 hydro setup. It's not a real easy thing to do. This header was modified with a custom flat collector and a 3 piece primary slip on system

here's the problem area compared to the hedman that does fit

...time to cut

Twin_Turbo,

Why not just use a hydraulic TOB ?

When I started using the lakewood scattershield I found it easier to just run a hydraulic TOB, and it gives tons more room for exhaust.

I'm constantly bombarded with facebook memes telling me how wonderful it is in your country. Apparently everyone has free everything, low cost of living, and access to everything. Americans want to be like you.

Must be some smart people because everything is really expensive here. Nothing is for free taxes are sky high. Some of the highest in the world when it comes to living housing cars income etc. Gas prices are sky high. Yes everything is free here when you scream allahu akbar and come across the mediterranean on a wonky boat. Then theres the poor saps who get to keep maybe 10 cents of their earned euro to pay for all this leftist socialist idiocy. I wanted a new c7 z06 but the 250.000 dollar price tag ruined it for me. Thats how cheap it is here

So what if I was to remove the slave cylinder and go to a hydraulic throwout bearing set up? Do you think they would work? Were probably going to make up a custom trans cross member like the one you have in the pics above. I want to lower the car a couple inches lower than stock. Thanks

Again, these basically fall in place from the bottom. I clearanced just the corner of the passenger floor so I have 3/4" space between the header and the floor.

I spent about an hour to fix both flanges.

Starter clearance is just fine. I'm using a 168 tooth flywheel and a TH350.

Again, these tuck really nice high into the tunnel. I wouldn't at all be concerned about using these on a lowered car. For the money, if you want 1 3/4" headers you'd be stupid to not buy these.

Oh, I used ARP 400-1110 stainless 1" header bolts (5/16" head) with washers. They seemed to work the best.

Now that my 383 engine build is almost complete (still on the engine stand), I went to fit these to my AFR210's a few months ago and to my great disappointment, the flange bolt holes did not line up either. I started grinding the flange holes wider and wider. I never even thought to cut the flange! This gives me new hope as I had stopped elongating the holes because it's extremely close to the exhaust port on a few cylinders. Maybe 1mm...

I am choosing copper exhaust gaskets to help seal.

This forum has always been a great help!

I finally got a chance to cut the flanges. Flange holes still don't line up with the AFR210 holes and I'm out of room for grinding. So that was $400 wasted.
I should've waited to order them, when they were ready to mount. I could've returned them.
For you guys who had successful installations, what was the name of the ebay seller and purchase date? Mine was purchased Apr 2016 from bigdawgtuning14.

I had the same problem on my 210s. Took me 20 minutes to fix them.

Just cut the flange, spread it, and re-weld it.

I actually had the same problem with my AFR 210s with a turbo manifold too. I think the AFR heads are a hair off.

Re: Ebay longtubes

I purchased a set of OBX off of Amazon. The flange bolt holes didn't line up well at all to my AFR 190's. Thank God I had the engine out and test fit them first. I was able to hog out the bolt holes with a die grinder and got them to fit. Yes, I was kicking myself for not spending the big bucks and going for the SS works or Hawks headers. If their headers came ceramic coated for that price I just might have paid for them. Anyway I was able to get them to fit and to my surprise they don't leak.

Why would you need ceramic coating for Stainless Steel headers? I thought SS was the ultimate and ceramic coating was on top of regular steel, which will rust.
What kind of exhaust gaskets did you use? Did you have a problem with the gaskets lining up with the AFR bolt pattern too?
How close did your grinding get to the exhaust ports?

Re: Ebay longtubes

I thought the same thing when I first purchased my set of SLP SS 4 into 1 headers. They produced so much heat they melted my steering shaft universal boot. I took them off and sent them to Jet-Hot for coating and basically the building burned to the ground. So anyway I purchased another set from Summit this time the SS SLP ceramic coated option. The temperature under the hood dropped dramatically. IMO with the tight clearances with the F-Body keeping the under hood heat down is a big deal. As far as gaskets go I used the ones that came with the OBX headers. They were graphite coated but I always use a thin coating of extreme heat Permatex with header gaskets and have a good luck with no leaks. They lined up ok, the holes on the gaskets were larger enough that even after enlarging the header flange holes some they fit. Although I really expected a leak, but so far no leaks. I've put about 1,500 miles on them. I don't remember exactly how close the grinding came to the ports but it was so close I was surprised they sealed.

Re: Ebay longtubes

Truthfully I have no idea what my AFR was. I first installed the 4 into 1 SS SLP headers it was back in 2000. I can tell you the headers I replaced were the Accel Tri-Y headers that were ceramic coated and the under hood temperature difference between the two sets of headers was huge.

Just a heads up.

They dropped in price to $88.88. There are only 10 left from the seller that has them deeply discounted.

Buy em! I know I just did.

I bought another set at that price. I'll keep 'em on the shelf for another project. How can you go wrong?

Gah! I wanted to buy these last winter, but the prices had skyrocketed so I got a set of Doug's headers instead. Maybe I should get a set for a backup...

Thats the story of my life. A day late and now 88 dollars short.

Glad people are picking them up. I had to check the add to make sure it wasnt an overpriced gasket set, or a pricing error.

I did wait until mine was shipped before I told everyone about them. I wanted to make sure mine got shipped out before someone noticed an error in price and fixed it, but its looking like theyre all being shipped out at this price. I ordered 2 now, (for a buddy) and both were shipped!

Then with the money I saved, I picked up a Grant Elite GT wheel and install kit. And with 2 sets and the wheel I was still under the $280 that other sellers are getting.

Might not be liquidation, might be China trying to mess with the market. they have done it in the past.

Wow, for $88.88, I had to get another set. This time I'll try cutting the flanges first, instead of widening out the mounting holes, in order to fit to my AFR210's. I paid $400 for the original set about a year ago.
