Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
My plan was to run Holley long tubes and duals with they motor mounts and x-member.
Holley has discontinued their long tubes for our cars.
Does anyone know if the Hawks stainless long tubes are a close enough fit to swap in?

I will look into it. I was mistaken on another thread I thought they were using the Hawks units. Guess it was the speed engineering headers.

my plan was the same, so I am disappointed to see the headers were discontinued.. subscribed, as you are further along in your build than me, let me know if you find anything out! I may be visiting hawks in the near future for my swap, so I will ask about the the header fitment with the blackheart if i get a chance.

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
Thanks for the heads up that you will be visiting. I don't need my headers just yet but figured what the heck. Might as well start to compile parts for the build later on.
What I do need is the area in the back of the car since I am fitting a fuel cell back there and need to be sure it fits well.
Do you know if the Blackheart system has 3" inlets from the headers?

edit: i stand corrected, see qwktrip's post below, and it does look like they have a 3" flange expanded on the end of the tube

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
The Holley headers merge into a 3" collector. The reduction to 2.5" is after the headers.
If you look up just the headers at the Holley website it gives specs for the merge collector. If Holley has deleted it from their site then I have the information written down in this thread from before it was discontinued, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...-ls-swaps.html

1-3/4 and 1-7/8 inch primaries with 3 inch collectors and velocity spear. 304 stainless steel; or mild steel that is painted or ceramic coated. Fitment is for use with the Hooker BlackHeart LS Swap system that pulls engine forward of typical. Proceed with caution if using different engine mounts and transmission crossmember. Hooker BlackHeart is a brand of the Holley company.

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
I looked EVERYWHERE.
I even called Jegs, and Summit, emailed eBay sellers, random racing shops form Texas to Kansas...
All said in stock, all only do direct drop shipments from Holley and they simply didn't know Holley discontinued the items.
I was specifically looking for 1-3/4" 304 stainless that fit 82-92 third gens.... Zero luck so I just went and ordered the Hawks stainless units instead. Looks like things should all bolt up.

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
I had the Holley SBC (gen 1) headers on my shopping list along with their dual exhaust. I've already got the Holley crossmember (I've a bastardized 700R4 so it's not quite like for like) but I missed the boat when the EPA killed the Holley stuff (which by the way, may be resolved eventually).
Anyway, I'll be watching to see how you make out.

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
I'm sorry.. i thought we were talking about there LS swap headers.. I ordered 2 sets from different venders.. just to check..1 is black painted, Hawks third gen.. And those show as shipped ,And ceramic coated from jegs..Have not heard back yet.. Both are 1-7/8.. so if nothing else i got the painted on its way.
Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
I believe Dennis IS looking for swap headers (LQ4 in a post of his).
I'm looking for Gen 1 stuff.
But it's ALL gone from Holley.
Didn't mean to add to any confusion.

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
I ordered the ceramic about a month ago from Jegs...They took my money and then cancelled my order a few days later. They still sell them on eBay and their site but I assume they will cancel. From what I understand, Hawks does have the painted and may even have ceramic. I doubt they have too many pairs but I asked Bruce and he said he could help me out on the ceramic. That was over a month ago...

Re: Hawks long tubes and Blackheart x-member alignment
To be clear I was looking for 1-3/4" primary to 3" collector stainless headers for a future LS3/T56 install.
I couldn't find the Holley units anywhere online or via phone call so I changed plans and got the Hawks stainless units.
They sent the 2.5" collector units by mistake so I am sending them back for the 3" units. They do look amazing though. Super high quality.
Will update my build thread once I get the correct parts in.
