having touble removing smog junk

having touble removing smog junk

I got the smog tubes of of the drivers side, and the front one loose on the passenger side. I cant seem to get the ones loose for #4,6, and 8 clyinder. Any tips would be appreciated.

I cant seem to see how the smog pump come off. I need help on this.


I know this is on the board, but when I put in smog pump in the search, it brougt up nothing.

have u tryed going under the car to get to them?

penetrating lube and let it sit then brake em loose. or try to get a cheater pipe on there

Yes, penetrating lube, use it before you break one of the bolts like I did. PITA to get the rest of the bolt out.

as for the smog pump . take the 3 bolts out of the pulley . after the pulleys off you will see 2 torq bolts (t-45 i think)& a regular bolt & it should come out the bottom. any questions just e-mail me.

I got the rest of the smog tubes off this week end. #8 was a bitch. I thought I had to remove the pulley from the smog pump, but was not sure.

Did anyone notice any difference with their car after removing the smog.

I am going to get rid of my duel cats, and replace them with pipes.
Hopefully I will be going to the hedman elite headers later on.

i noticed a big diff taking all of my smog off expecally the pump and belt i also took the christmas tree looking tubes off my manifolds and pluged them with brass plugs
