Custom Dash idea.

Hi, Ever since I got my firebird I have been pondering of how to make the dash different. I want all digital red led, dash and gauges up the butt. I want it to be a cockpit and a lot of switches. I know most of you cringe on that idea, but its what I wana do so hear me out, and maybe you can help!

I had few things I want to do.
1.Add fully functioning KITT in the car, so lap top and speakers and microphone need to be in the car, but enclosed and sealed. I dont like wires around.
2. A lot of gauges. I like monitoring every single dang thing in the car. I wanna know how every part of the car is doing. So I am thinking along lines of hooking up sensors to the laptop to where I can read how my ... rear end gasket is doing. I know its a bit extreme, but like amp temp or exhaust temp is more along the lines of what i wanna do.
3. In dash LCD with a hidden PS2.
4. All of this will be powerd by a 350lo5 re-built and 150 shot of NOS. It would be a decent contender.

Ideas I have about doing all this crap.
1.Taking the rear seats out and building a box going with the body to hold all of my crap. Easy way out
2. Fab up a new console! I know its a biggie, and I plan getting into fiberglass work. For this I need ideas of what kind should I fabricate so I can fit everything I want.
3. How about this.

I'm for the whole custom dash thing. But what i want to do. Is make an entire setup. The entire dash would be rounded out and smooth. Made out of aluminum. Several peices probably then TIG welded. And ground smooth to look like one peice. Now this dash would then include all the center consol as well. For the radio and heating and air functions i want a little motorized touch screen something like a 6 incher or something. the standard size. And for the gauges all nice round dail gauges for everything. Now for the fun part. When the key is out of the iginition i am going to have the dash look like one peice of solid aluminum like nothing is there. Then when the Key is turned to the on positon the touch screen rools out of cover and all the vents pop open as well as the cover for the gauges. I think ill start on it next summer when the fiance is off in europe and ill need **** to do.

Sounds good.

I am not sure of what the best way would be to go. Maybe make all the measurements, throw them on paper and than position things where you want them. I think that you can put alot more stuff in a custom dash that uses up the space better than the stock one. For me, I find that the whole no glove box ordeal on my pass side is just wasted space. A good lap top or LCD could fit there. So I just might fabricate a cover for that area so it sits flush with the vents. In other words cover that area up with fiberglass or so, and than build brackets inside. Also I want to replace my existing gauges with some digital ones. I wish I can get a GTA dash, but everytime it goes up for a bid, and for a decent price the owner changes it to something bigger. So, all in all I want a working KITT so lap top is a must.
I want a lot of gauges.
I want a good looking dash.

If this means that I have to get to fiberglassing, than I will

I'm doing something like that in my car, but keeping it together is my problem. Super glue isn't good enough for me.

Yes, those are the gauges I am talking about. What did you use to make the metal part of the console. Sheet metal???
I am thinking about setting up a TV or laptop screen where the glove box is. ITs going to be a fully functional KITT.

I love the set up 007dude.

I've seen those before.

Here a website that says they have them.

http://www.aksem.com/camaro_parts/camaro_interior.htm

They even have pedals to match.

I'm going to try with fiberglass to redo my dash and my console. I'm putting a screen in the dash and the console.
