Couple of overdue pics of the "Stoplight Collection"
Well this is very long overdue but the weather in Chicago has been less than favorable to the hobby. It seems that we are smack dab in the middle of a confusing mix between September in Seattle WA and April in London=====Lots of rain. But this past Sunday we had a taste of this new thing called Summer, so I took full advantage of the opportunity.
Hope everyone enjoys. More pics are at http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q127/marksirota/

That's an awesome collection. Too bad about the plate on the JY car, the other ones definitely look better without that.
Do you have a set of crosslace wheels for sale? The JY car has black ones in your sig pic, and gold in the other pics...

Re: Couple of overdue pics of the "Stoplight Collection"
Thanks everyone.
Denny, I can't have a favorite, just not possible, each one has a special meaning and a special purpose.
I will probably be removing the front plate on the JY car, I just need to mix the right paint to touch up the repair of the holes, I do agree that it would look better without it.
Greg, I sold the black wheels off the car and got these gold OER repros. I am thinking about maybe picking up a set of the black ones in the future, I do like the way they look a lot on the JY car, it's just that the originals were so badly stained by 147K miles of brake dust that I could not use them without a full refinishing.
And I am smiling ear to ear...

very nice pics! I'm jealous! I only got one bird and here you got 3!
btw, i noticed all 3 of your cars are hard top...was it just at random you sought these cars like that or were you being selective on getting your car of choice?
either way i'm loving the way these cars look as time goes on...might have to get me one, even if it's a base model....

I may be a bit behind on your cars, but why do you refer to one as the JY car? Did you buy it out of a yard or what?

Rockin, as you know the L98 was only available with the hardtop and I am kind of partial to L98 cars, but it also just happens that that is how the cards fell with these cars. The Red car was a bit of am impulse buy when I sold my 89 Formula, and I fell in love with the 91-2 body style, after having the 89 for 10 years it was a big change in styling. Not that there was anything wrong with the 89 style. The GTA just happened to be a great car with super low miles, and the JY car, well I'm not even sure just how that worked out to happen. That was just a very lucky moment.
89Roc, JY is what we have shortened Jamaica Yellow to. We have had many discussions on the board about the rarity of the JY cars and it was getting too tiring to keep typing the name out! So that was just pure laziness I gues, but yeah I see your point about the "junkyard" similarity.

Is that red one a firehawk or does it just have the same rims?
Red is my favorite color for birds.

Re: Couple of overdue pics of the "Stoplight Collection"
What kind of wheels are those on the red one? I'm loving them. A lot.
I have the factory color-keyed wheels. Awesome when they came out, but they didn't paint them well or something, because mine have faded to a pink color. Funny, because my car paint hasn't done that at all. Seems they'd use the same paint, no?
Anyway, I am debating repainting the color-keys or getting something else...
Gorgeous cars! Love the stoplight theme, lol.

The wheels are 92 Firehawk, Ronal R15 wheels. They really make the car.
Chazman, yeah I was there, and saw your car as well, very very clean! Did you say you have a cam in that car? I thought it was all stock.
BTW, have you ever been to Photo's in Mt Prospect with that car a few years back? It looks really familiar and especially with that kinda mileage.

Thanks. I don't think I've ever gone to Photo's. When I say "big cam" in the avatar I mean the stock one. My version of the LB9 came with the L98 cam.
BTW, I saw your yellow Firebird at Thirdgen Fest. I had the white, '83, Crossfire, Z/28 there. Next time we need to introduce ourselves!
I'll probably be hitting Rolling Meadows again Friday.
