Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

This fellow feels that his '85 T/A is worth "between $4K and $9K."

What do you guys think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-...item2559ac4141

I thought about listing all the things badly wrong with the car, but I figured you guys could do that. Have fun.

Oh dear.

But this may be good . This means my car may be worth close to $20,000. I seen a lambo that sold for $300,000 once . Maybe that means my car is worth even more

I agree.

If this car brings $4K, I may start re-thinking my line of work. I should be pulling derelict F-bodies out of junkyards, spray-bombing them with primer and making thousands of dollars!

I think my favorite part is the homemade "radio delete" plate. I never thought you could do worse than a missing radio and a big void in the dash until I saw that. Of course, it still has that one speaker up on the B-pillar to remind the buyer that the car at one point did have a decent stereo!

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

this guy is on crack... after reading the description I said, he's lucky if he gets 1K, after looking at the pictures, he's lucky if he even gets ONE BID... AHHAA... seller is probably that one guy that was trying to force that one cam in the block, the cam that wouldn't fit flush inside the block.. you guys know who I'm talking about... he said he didn't care about it working right or not, that he was just gonna turn-a-round and sell it...

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

Hmm... I just picked up a 90 t-top GTA, less the motor and trans w/ a perfect body and interior, for $500. Going by this guy's price scale I should be able to flip it for $10,000. SWEET I'm going on vacation!

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

He has his buddies bidding, last 2 bidders have 0 feedback....

"If I had money and if I knew how to work on cars I would never sell this car."

This guy is an idiot, and there's no way that is the correct mileage.

It's a parts car. I'd park it out back with the rest of them.

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

I have literally seen nicer cars at the junkyard. The radio delete plate is pretty sweet though. I think that was a one year only option. Anybody got the RPO for that?

In all fairness, if the old lady was barking at me to get rid of my car, I'd put it on eBay for 9000 just to say I tried..

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

the radio delete plate was a factory option which included the removal of the radio and a blank plate installed ,removal of the front dash speaker covers and the removal of the rear speakers and covers.
Extremely rare option as a matter of fact first one Ive seen

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

This one is okay but screams fake and repaint:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290420318572

Lets see:

Wrong center caps
Missing strut tower caps
Missing distributor cover
Retro-fit A/C without caps
Radiator upper mount has no decals
Paint under hood is WAY to shiny, screams front end wreck
Nose paint doesn't match, how do you screw up white?!
Center console lid peeling apart
Trashed ebrake handle, nicks everywhere
Lettering on CC lever almost gone
PONTIAC letting on taillights missing
Front hood vents metal mesh not proper color
Missing plastic caps on cup holder bolt holes
Drivers seatbelt torn apart
Rust under the hood, look at the valve cover bolts and the water pump, steering box, etc.
White paint overspray on parts of the engine harness loom
Orange peel on the rear bumper cover
TRANS AM decals missing from lower side GFX

and my favorite part:

"First off i'd like to say i'm aware there were "no" convertible GTA'S made. That being said, this T/A has the GTA emblems. Appears to be original, but you be the judge."

Ok, I'm being a little harsh but I'm just showing that even a car that looks decent, if you look you can find all kinds of things wrong. That being said, the car this thread is about is a $1,500 beater even in CA, BUT if people want to bid it up and pay that, let them. It just goes to show that eBay is not the place to buy a car unless you see it in person.

Re: Some of these Ebay Sellers Amaze Me

You missed the biggest, in my opinion. His ad is claiming it's a 5.7/350 TPI.

If it's really a 350/TPI, then the engine isn't original. He hasn't made any claim of such if that's the case.

By the way, did you see the AutoCheck on it?

Hold on to your dash pads were at $1200.00 and reserve is not met!
I could understand if his wife wanted him to sell it he would put in a high reserve but not for this car, Id take the money and run!
Going to be calling the scrap yards to see what they have in stock
