Checked out this yellow '86 IROC-Z today.

I was actually on my way to look at a '91 'vert when I drove past this. '86 IROC-Z, yellow, TPI, T-tops - basically an '86 clone of my '85.

60K miles, repainted rear bumper cover, (with incorrectly placed TPI emblem), clear coat on wheels is pitted, and I believe the door moldings should be body colored and not black. Interior smelled musty, I suspect leaky T-tops. Overall a fairly nice car in need of a thirdgenner's TLC. Asking price $13K.

Re: Checked out this yellow '86 IROC-Z today.

This was the car I was on my way to see.

'91 convertible, 85K miles, L03, auto. They want $5900. Car is rougher in person than in the pics, (what else is new? ). Car has some needs. Has rust bubbling up under the tonneau and door jam, needs paint on hood, front spoiler, etc., needs some wheels, something is up with the front end and steering column/ignition switch and has some weird hacked up alarm.

I agree. If didn't already have one, I'd be all over this one.

Yes, that was a hot combo back in the 80's...still is. Very nice, wish there were cars like that (to stumble upon) where I live.

The salesperson told me that this car came from Ohio.

Re: Checked out this yellow '86 IROC-Z today.

There was an 85-87 Yellow IROC locally at a pawn shop... I drove past it 5 times, but either they were closed or I did not have the time to stop... I wish I did, I love the Yellow, looks so right on the IROC...

Re: Checked out this yellow '86 IROC-Z today.

I saw a mid 80's Yellow Camaro yesterday somewhere in AZ or So Cal on CL yesterday. I think they wanted around 5-7K. It looked in good shape. Here's one I saw a while back with a custom paint job.

I have always liked the color too.

Reminds me of one of those mid-evil helmets used in the Crusades with the nose guard.. Watch the old Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (1989) ... those helmets

I should say I prefer the single color Yellow, The top being Black does nothing for me.

I agree. This one looks more like a paint job for a drag car at the track.
