This a true iroc?
Re: This a true iroc?
For 1987, it should have the B4Z code if it's an IROC on top of the Z28 code. This changed in 1988 where the B4Z code was no longer used and just Z28 was used.
So, no, based on the RPO sticker this car is not an IROC.

As has been mentioned, NOT an IROC. Could be a cool car. At least it has a 3.23 gear. Just don't pay IROC money for it.
Re: This a true iroc?
I was starting to lead to that. He also claims it has a 350. If that proves true (I’ve asked for casting numbers and suffix codes). And is actually rust free, it may be decent. If all goes well, it may be a very good way to knock the price down.

Just remember this; If the seller starts throwing that nasty "C" word around (You know, "Corvette"
) , run for the hills !!!
If even half of the Camaros & Firebirds that sellers lie and say have a "Corvette Engine" in them actually had a real engine from a Corvette, there wouldn't be ANY running Corvettes left in the world

What is most important is the condition of the body and undercarriage; get it up on a lift and inspect everything underneath. Even if the car is relatively rust-free, it's still going to need some body work and a complete repaint, not an inexpensive undertaking. That in itself will keep most buyers away.
Believe your own eyes. Discount anything said by the seller that can't be substantiated.

If it's not rusty and runs good that is probably a fair price. I didnt see anywhere in the ad claiming to be IROC. I would just ignore any claims and go look at it to decide if it is worth that price to you. Big issue is always hidden rust.
Re: This a true iroc?
If the engine's origin is questionable, in that case just consider it to be a run-of-the-mill small block, adding no real additional value to the car.

Re: This a true iroc?
True on the rust, that’s what forced me to get rid of my Berlinetta. I learned the bad spots on these cars after playing around with that other car. Thankfully this one is a car from a province that’s less known for brutal salt roads. The ad originally said IROC. I kindly told him it was not based of the missing RPO code, he took it almost too nice and just changed the ad. The car has small IROC decals on the bottom of the doors. It doesn’t sound like he knows too much. Thanks for your input.
