Certification and Tire Pressure Labels Request

Can anybody upload a photo of their driver's door labels? Mine are unreadable for the most part. I am pretty sure it will have to be from a 83 Z28 to be accurate. I don't think it would have to be an HO car too.

I would guess all Z28's had the same tire pressure/size label.

The VIN label, I'm not too sure. I'm wondering if the GVWR and GAWR weights might be different depending on the options.

Anybody out their with readable labels?

Thank you much!

Larry

Joe ( of Knight Rider Histories) was making repos of the door stickers for awhile. I helped him decode the stickers when he was getting set up.
The GVWR and GAWR are different based on the car, it can be found on the build sheet, if you have it.

This example is for 1982 cars, 1983 cars were slightly different but mostly the same and in 84 they went to a different sticker style.

Re: Certification and Tire Pressure Labels Request

Thanks Tony. Yours didn't fare too well either.

Jeff, I wasn't aware a full-size spare was available, let alone fit. I originally ordered the posi, but was notified soon after that it wouldn't be installed. Never have figured out why. Maybe it was strength issue of the T5 not being able to handle both tires gripping the road.

My heavy duty cooling option selection was also deleted. My reasoning was maybe all cooling systems became heavy duty, thereby no need for the option.

Jeff, I went to Knight Rider Historians but didn't see any of these decals. I wonder if he's still producing them.

It's a moot point anyway as I got my decals in today.

OK, I neglected to keep everyone up-to-date with these decals. I always knew of ECS Automotive, (ecsvin.com and ecsauto.com). They reproduce these decals and many more. I never tried them in the past because the buyer needs to be a collision shop. My friend who owns a restoration shop graciously allowed me to use his business license.

I got them in today. Pretty good quality except there is bubbling and lifting on the edges. I reached out to see what they could do about it. It's very possible the edges will adhere to the paint better than the release liner. But for the $150 cost, I would expect better.
I also screwed up and specified the tire size to be P125/6R15 instead of P215/65R15. They assumed it was supposed to be 60 even though another example I provided shows the correct 65. Hopefully, they can correct that too. Unfortunately, that decal has barely any lifting. Crossing my fingers they will replace both.

The full size spare is the collapsible spare. its the one that needs to be inflated and comes with an infiltrator bottle.

There is a Pontiac bulletin 83-F-12 dated April 27th 1983 that said,

"19B3 Firebird Trans Am and S/E models with the LG4 or L69 engine, together with the WS6 or WS7 Performance Packages and a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, are currently on 'hold' status due to the temporary unavailability of the required Limited Slip Differential, UPC GBO" it goes on to says orders with LSD will be replaced with non LSD rear ends.

I don't have the Chevy bulletins but i assume Camaro's had a similar hold on LSD..

Re: Certification and Tire Pressure Labels Request

I always thought I had what Chevy Camaro called the full size spare since it had the 60 lbs of air already in it. Not the inflater can.
As far as the posi rear, if I remember correctly you could not get it or the 5.7 L because the T-5 in 83 would not hold up! Both my order sheet and build sheet show the codes for heavy duty cooling (V08) I don’t know if the build date has any thing to do with it. My order was received by Norwood, Ohio 4-27 and build sheet date 5-16
