Re: Radio Collection

The one you selected has the 20 pin connector (88 and up) The bottom one has the 12 pin connector (87 and below) The one you selected has a nicer face which I can switch to the bottom one if needed. Your choice. Paypal to mrzhvac@aol.com

Eightyninef:
Assuming no one else has modified your wiring, You should have a 20 pin connector for a radio. Bottom right is what I have left for that application.
If you want to go a little fancier, left stack, top radio is really nice, I can swap out the data board so it does not require steering wheel controls to unlock it or operate it.
If for some oddball reason you have a 12 pin connector, LMK, I can do some faceplate swapping to accommodate you.

Mac:
I have my Paypal set up to automatically withdraw from my checking account. It may save loosing an item you really want to do it that way. Just my opinion,,,

The radio you selected is already boxed, just waiting on payment,,,

I'm the original owner & the car is all original. The radio doesn't go on sometimes. I have to play with the power button. I currently have the EQ casette radio.

Can you take a close up picture of the left top radio. You say this is a direct replacement ??

Re: Radio Collection

Why don't I just send you a good power button switch? I mean you have to pretty much take the radio all apart to get to it but it's not all that bad. Assuming there are no other issues with the unit. Or I could repair yours.

No the other one is not a direct replacement for yours. It is from an 88-89 GTA with the 20 pin connector. Factory default, if the battery or radio was disconnected, the radio would LOC. These were the first Delco-Loc radios. It required that the mute button pressed on the steering wheel control pad to onlock it.

I have replacement data boards that remove the lock feature. It will power up and work just fine when installed in your car. You won't need any steering wheel controls.

Here's a couple of pics,,,

Re: Radio Collection

When I have time, I will pull my radio out, and we'll go from there. I really don't drive the car very. Only 78,000 miles.

When I pull it out, I'll let you know.

Re: Radio Collection

That one has been sold to a local member. The one next to it to the left is 1990's Chevy radio. Just got the new bulbs for it today. Should be ready to ship by Monday.
Still the same price $115 shipped.

Re: Radio Collection

I have a 91 RS, my radio will quite often throw out static to the point I just turn it off. I don't know if it's the antenna, the connector or the radio going bad. Do you have any info about this and what's the repair rate on this type of radio? Thanks,

Just so I don't have to type it all out again, go here

I usually charge $80 to go through a radio and resolder the bad joints

Re: Radio Collection

I thought the Bose radios were more prevelant in the Caddy's. I know I had a Caddy Bose w/cassette a while back but gone now. The only Bose I have is from a 91 Caddy along with 3 other radios with the first generation cd players that you cannot find in working condition or replacment cd mechanisms.
I am going to the boneyard tommorrow, I will look around a bit. Do you have a Bose radio that needs repaired or none at all?

Re: Radio Collection New Units Added

New units,
Except for a missing ***** bottom right, works great.
Left middle, I will have to change out the 10 bulbs in the faceplate, works great
No issues with the rest, make a resonable offer to include $15 shipping lower 48

Re: Radio Collection New Units Added

Being a Camaro, I would have picked the bottom left side (Pic 1) It is fully functional, I will have to add the input aux connection. There is no room on the faceplate for the aux, so it will have to be remote mounted. $260 shipped.
