Headlight **** removal

I have a 92 Camaro, my bulb on my instrument panel is out. I am trying to find out how to take the **** off. Any other info with tearing the panel off would help. Thanks
Krista

Re: Headlight **** removal

There is a small button on the underside off the switch inside the dash. ( where the ***** shaft goes into.) push the button in and pull the **** out. Also disconnect your battery as this will turn your headlights on.

A Chiltons or haynes manual may be a good investment if you plan on doing a lot of your own work. They have a lot of stuff like this in them. ( thats how I knew how to take the **** off)

I have a Chilton's. Neither book is super detailed about the procedure. It just tells you to press the button on the switch. It was a pain in the neck to get to IMO.

Re: Headlight **** removal

Another question, can I buy orange bulb in the 194ll style? Ok maybe I should say I am wanting to change the color to a brighter orange, my b/f put red light on his 4th gen panel. Think that orange will be hard to find or is even possible?

Well, you could get the LED replacement bulbs from here:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm

They are actually reasonably priced and do come in different colors. I wish I had order from them, but I decided to make my own LED bubls which are OK but not great.

Re: Headlight **** removal

Thanks for the help, but I can't find that small button. Is it behind the ball or on the back side of the trim? I tried turning it, but I afraid of braking it. That bulb is going to have to be replaced soon, I can't see how fast I am going!

The LED's do I need to change wiring on doing that? What size would I need a big instrument cluster bulb or the smaller one? This is the page with the two one it... http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...5.9306&next=50

Sorry for being a pain, but lights aint my thing

There are 2 ways of getting to the button:
1-Remove the dash pad, stick your hand down the hole and feel for it, it is located behind the headlight dimmer switch on the bottom.
2-Remove the speedo, same deal.
