elect. vs mech. gauges

what are the pros and cons of electric and mech gauges?

Cons of mechanical- If you pop a capilary tube you have hot oil in the passanger compartment.

It's generally easier to run wires through the car than it is to run capillary tubes for mechnical gauges. In terms of accuracy, there's little difference, if any.

what they said.. i have all electric except the oil pressure.. my sender broke for the electric so i just went mech. for accuracy and reliability.. btw, i use the copper tube, not the nylon.. nylon seems like an accident waiting to happen..

Nylon is safer than copper.

really?? well my copper is going great so far.. i would think copper is good unless it bends too far and too much.. all gentle bends in my line..

Copper work hardens as it's subjected to vibration.
