spare tire cover clips?
Re: spare tire cover clips?
Dealer if you just need one or two. If you need more then that, hit your local junkyard and salvage them. Most of the rear interior panels in thirdgens use those clips, just remove the panels and carefully pop the clips out. A handful shouldn't cost more then a couple dollars. There might be an aftermarket source, but I've yet to see one.

It's possible that the following site has them, though I didn't search:

No luck at the website, rarely see one in a junk yard, and if it almost all the parts are gone
need to try dealer, but if it cant be found online I bet they are discontinued

Re: spare tire cover clips?
For those looking for those spare tire cover retainer "clips"
and the plastic screws.
I searched the above links with no luck!
Also the genuine GM parts sites are a PIA to navigate and
see if GM still has them.
I did go to the Dorman Products site and went thru their body hardware catalogue and found that these may be it:
Dorman pn# 700-985 screw.
It is described as a 3/8 Nylon screw.
Dorman pn# 700-986 Anchor nut
It is described as a anchor nut. From the pic it looks like the
real deal- rectangle and long and may clip in the body retainer hole.
Both noted for a 81 thru 91 cam/bird in the product description.
Will have to stop by a parts store and eyeball them in person !
and the plastic screws.

Autozone and Advance both carry them in the HELP! section - have to pay for the screws and the retainers, I think they come maybe 2 or 3 in a pack, so not cheap if you need alot, but available.

Re: spare tire cover clips?
JERROD................Thanks for the fleabay link!
Ordered mine today....................
As far as the Dorman/Help screws and nuts sold at the big box parts stores I was at Pep Boys/Advance/auto Zone today and all 3 said the NUTS are discontinued but the screws are still available and none of them in the Syracuse area stocked them but they can be ordered.
So I got the nuts off fleabay!

I bought the ones off E-bay and they work fine. I would bet if you removed your spare tire, you would find all your missing clips. I finally did and there they were (3) that I lost over the years.

Got my clips from that e-bay link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=370364886463
Even with the shipping charge they were still cheaper than the Dorman part
(than none of my local part stores carried and said they were discontinued).
