91 T/A power seats don't work

Hey guys, I have a 91 Trans Am vert with manual seats however they have the power inflatable bolsters with the 4 buttons on the side of them. They don't work at all for me. Fuses are all good. What can it be?

Start simple. You've already checked the fuses. So he next two things I would check are:

Have you checked to make sure the electical lines beneath the seats are connected?

If so, did you check the air hoses under both seats? Check to ensure they are both connected and don't have any cracks/leaks in them. If the lines are not fully connected on both seats, they won't work at on on either side.

Yes I definitely checked the wires and they are connected. Wouldn't the seats be making some sort of sound even with a bad air hose? Since I don't hear ANYTHING when I push the buttons.

You would think so. Have you used a multimeter near the connectors to see if they are getting juice?

I have not actually, I'll have to get one or borrow one from somebody. So the wires in the floor always have juice sent to them, or at least are supposed to? Considering that the switch is on the seat...

corrosion is like dust...its everywhere!
get some contact cleaner and clean all electrical connections
especially the contacts inside of the switch

Even with an airline disconnected you'ld hear the pump, plus any air escaping.

Have you tested the airpump(straight to batt) to make sure it works?

Sometimes the fuse is on the harness, under dr seat.

There are relays too, check those.

Power is "hot" (all times),seats function even if ing is off.

Ive had the switch itself go bad on once, but not both together. So it has to be a common connection.

Thanks man, that's what I've been waiting to hear! I replaced the fuse in the harness under the seat since it was actually pretty corroded. But I'll have to get a meter or something to first see if the seats are getting juice. Thanks!
