Rear speakers help

Somebody put aftermarket 6x9s in the rear and when I went to put new carpet in and took off sail panel i saw the bottom lip of speakers dont come thru trim piece and pushes out trim what speakers do I need for replacements? 82 z28

I have some factory speakers that still work and sound good if your interested $15 for the pair + shipping.

Has delco GM 16034422 sticker on the magnet

Are you saying they stick out? If thats the case you just need some with a smaller magnet. I had to put my new 6x9s in boxes because the magnet was to big

No the big plastic interior piece that houses the speaker sticks out past the speaker lip the speaker is sitting correctly just looks like there's a big gap in the top and negative down low didn't know if I need a round speaker

Can you post a pic of what you have? Sometimes people add spacers and/or brackets that aren't original.

Usually that plastic piece will pull off the speaker. it snaps on for a decorative trim. Just unsnap it off.

im also assuming you just mean the speaker grille is sticking out to far, if so just remove it

You have a few choices. Trim the plastic on the speaker or trim the sail panel so everything fits. Buy some different speakers that fit better.

Personally i would trim the speakers to fit better.
